Presents the 135-minute restored original 1977 theatrical cut across five CAV (Standard Play) sides, with Making Close Encounters and extensive supplemental material featured on Side 6. Rendered entirely in full-feature CAV format, allowing complete interactive frame-by-frame functions (freeze frame, slow motion, and random access) across all three discs. Features a CX-encoded Dolby Surround stereo soundtrack created from original 35mm magnetic 4-channel mixes, VideoScope letterbox widescreen presentation, original 1980 Special Edition scenes indexed at the end of sides for seamless player programming, screenplays, concept art, production stills, and extensive documentary material.
