Vintage Widescreen LaserDisc release of Roland Joffé's acclaimed 1986 historical drama The Mission, starring Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons. Winner of the 1986 Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or and the Academy Award for Best Cinematography, the film features an iconic original score by Ennio Morricone as it follows a 18th-century Spanish Jesuit priest and a converted slave trader who unite to defend a South American Indian tribe against colonial subjugation.
Distributed on LaserDisc by Warner Home Video (Catalog # 12278), this release features a letterbox widescreen transfer with Extended Play (CLV) on Sides 1 & 2 and Full-Feature Standard Play (CAV) on Side 3 covering the climactic final battle.
