Star Trek: The Original Television Pilot Episode - "The Cage" LaserDisc LD (1986) - Paramount Home Video - VG

Vintage Paramount Home Video LaserDisc release featuring the original Star Trek television pilot episode, "The Cage" (Episode 1). Created, written, and produced by Gene Roddenberry and directed by Robert Butler, this historic release includes special introductory and concluding remarks by series creator Gene Roddenberry. Starring Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Christopher Pike, Susan Oliver as Vina, and Leonard Nimoy as Mister Spock, along with Majel Barrett, John Hoyt, Peter Duryea, and Laurel Goodwin.

Reconstructed using original 16mm B&W workprint footage alongside color footage from "The Menagerie", this release presents the pilot as it was originally assembled before being rejected by network executives in 1965 for being "too cerebral".

Distributed on LaserDisc by Paramount Home Video and manufactured by Pioneer Video, Inc. (Catalog # LV 60040-106), this Extended Play (CLV) release features dual-channel sound and standard full-screen presentation.
