The Bonfire of the Vanities (1991) LaserDisc - Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Melanie Griffith - Widescreen Edition - Warner Home Video - EX

Vintage Brian De Palma satirical adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s best-selling novel The Bonfire of the Vanities, starring Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, and Melanie Griffith, with an outstanding supporting performance by Morgan Freeman. The film pokes biting, hilarious fun at the greed and excess of 1980s New York City when Sherman McCoy (Hanks), a $1-million-a-year Wall Street bond trader, makes a wrong turn in The Bronx that steers him toward a hit-and-run manslaughter scandal. Co-starring Willis as a jaded journalist looking for a career-making story and Griffith as McCoy’s Fifth Avenue mistress.

This Wide Screen Edition 2-disc set from Warner Home Video (Catalog # 12048) presents the film in a "matted" widescreen format preserving its theatrical aspect ratio. Sides 1 and 2 are presented in Extended Play (CLV), while Side 3 features Standard Play (CAV) for the climax and end credits, enabling full frame-by-frame and special playback control. Includes digital processing, CX noise reduction, stereo audio, and closed captioning.
