Here is the program to the October 14, 1979 contest between the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks at the Northlands Coliseum when Wayne Gretzky scored his first NHL goal. This is the only exemplar in the CGC census. Generally regarded as the greatest hockey player ever, Gretzky earned nine league MVP awards, two playoff MVPs and four Stanley Cup championships, while retiring as the all-time leader in points, goals and assists. When he retired in 1999, he held sixty-one NHL records. A quarter century later, he still holds fifty-five.
